Abstract
A new gadolinium–molybdenum-organic compound, [Gd(H2O)6Mo2O6(Hpydc)(pydc)]·H2O 1 (H2pydc = pyridine-2,5-dicaroxylic acid), has been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure characterization reveals that 1 consists of GdIII and MoVI centers linked via oxygen atoms and H2pydc ligands, forming a 3D network with channels occupied by water molecules. Crystal data for 1: C14H21GdMo2N2O21, monoclinic, space group P21/c, a = 7.5232(3) Å, b = 20.7611(7) Å, c = 15.2509(6) Å, β = 96.317(3)°, V = 2367.57(15) Å3, and Z = 4.
