Abstract
In the current work, the plasticity at room temperature, as well as the creep and stress relaxation behaviors at high temperature of the Ti16.7Zr16.7Hf16.7Cu16.7Ni16.7Be16.7 high-entropy bulk metallic glass have been investigated. In the compressive testing, the fracture strength can reach 2539Â MPa at room temperature and the plasticity of the Ti16.7Zr16.7Hf16.7Cu16.7Ni16.7Be16.7 high-entropy metallic glass is better at the lower strain-rate. The creep property was studied by stress-jump tests at different temperatures. It is noted that the Newtonian behavior of the alloy would turn to non-Newtonian at high temperature with increasing of the strain rate. The apparent activation volume of Ti16.7Zr16.7Hf16.7Cu16.7Ni16.7Be16.7 high-entropy metallic glass is smaller than that of traditional metallic glasses. It is found that the heterogeneity of the alloy system will be enhanced as temperature increases near and below the glass transition temperature Tg.
