Abstract
►Crystallization of the Fe82Nb2B14RE2 (RE = Y, Gd, Tb, and Dy) amorphous alloys proceeds in two stages i.e. nanocrystallization of iron/iron borides and full crystallization. ►Magnetic rare earth alloying additions cause, in a comparison with non magnetic yttrium, (i) increase of the Curie, (ii) decrease of crystallization temperature, (iii) increase of activation enthalpy and (iv) increase of the first stage crystallization. ►Magnetic moment of the Gd, Tb and Dy alloying additions causes a slowing down of diffusion processes.
