Abstract
⺠The chain structure of crystalline Se reserves in liquid state. ⺠Twofold coordinated configuration prevails in liquid Se at high temperature but decreases steadily with the increase of density. ⺠The Peierls-type distortion reserves in liquid Se at high temperature and pressure.
