Abstract
The composition dependence of boson peaks has been studied by inelastic neutron scattering and Raman scattering in lithium borate glasses xLi2O–(1 − x)B2O3, where x is the mole fraction of Li2O. The peak energy markedly increases with the increase of x, and shows the clear correlation with the shear modulus in the range x < 0.28. The composition variation of boson peak intensity is stronger than the Debye level. The boson peak spectra of all compositions are well scaled by the master curve. It indicates that the function of the distribution of VDoS remains the same with the increase of the Li2O composition.
