Abstract
Work presented deals with the study of cross-linking reactions during the formation of thin films of polyesters modified by unsaturated fatty acids. Cross-linking reactions proceed on alpha-carbon in the vicinity of double bond located at adjacent polyester chain. Hydroperoxides are formed during reaction of air oxygen penetrating into amorphous polymeric film with activated alpha-carbon. For the formation of reactive radicals originated when hydroperoxides are decaying, it is important to use an appropriate catalyst. We propose semiconducting materials based on amorphous chalcogenides from Ge–S and Ge–Se families for use in this field, as concluded from our latest research results.
