Abstract
The organic conducting polymers are some of the most promising materials for optoelectronic device technology. In this paper we present a combined experimental and theoretical study of the structure, optical and spectroscopic properties of a new copolymer based on 3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene (EDOT) and poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK). This copolymer was prepared by oxidative copolymerization. In order to predict the unknown properties of our prepared copolymer, DFT quantum chemical calculations on the structure and electronic and spectroscopic properties were performed and compared with experimental results.
