Abstract
One pot synthesis of Fe2O3–Al2O3 nanocomposites was investigated for using in water treatment. X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterization shows that the sample is α-Fe2O3 and γ-Al2O3 mixed phases material. The porous structure of Fe2O3–Al2O3 nanocomposites can be confirmed by N2-sorption isotherms. The specific surface area determined by BET surface area measurement was found to be 102.1 m2 g− 1. Moreover, the porous Fe2O3–Al2O3 nanocomposites samples showed an excellent ability to remove heavy metal ion (Cr (VI)) in water treatment.
