Abstract
We report an investigation of the dynamic viscosity and the atomic structure of liquid Cu–Ge alloys. The concentration as well as the temperature dependence of the viscosity obtained experimentally has been modelled by use of a thermodynamic approach. An excess viscosity above mixing rules has been observed for Cu-rich alloys which – in relation with the diffraction experiments – can be explained in terms of a micro-heterogeneous structure.
