Abstract
We investigated the influence of size polydispersity, temperature, and hardness of potential interaction (n) on elastic properties of soft disks, interacting through n-inverse-power potentials, r-n. In particular, the Poisson's ratio of both polydisperse and binary soft disk systems are calculated by Monte Carlo simulation using the analysis of box fluctuations in the constant pressure ensemble with variable box shape (NpT). It has been shown that the Poisson's ratio of binary and polydisperse soft disk crystals at finite temperature are similar. We found that increasing the size polydispersity has stronger influence to increase the Poisson's ratio than increasing of the hardness of potential interaction to decrease it.
