Abstract

The calculated temperature variation of electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power for composite Al–Sm alloys, composed of the X fraction of fcc-Al nanocrystals embedded in amorphous phase, are in good agreement with experimental data. No interphase layer was detected on nanograin surface. Correlation between a value of electrical resistivity, temperature coefficient of resistivity and thermoelectric power of amorphous Al–Sm and Al–Sm–Ni alloys is qualitatively consistent with Ziman theory. The attracting interaction between Al and Ni atoms, which stabilizes the amorphous structure, is detected.
