Abstract
This paper presents the results of electrochemical hydrogenation in the CeFe2 and GdFe2 Laves phases analyzed via Mössbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. For low-current density, the results show partial hydrogenation and for high-current density, the samples become amorphous. For all the samples, hydrogen leads to the fracture of the sample into a fine powder. Observed similarities and differences with gas hydrogenation are discussed.
