Abstract
Metastable changes in the dark conductivity of microcrystalline silicon upon heat treatment at different temperatures obey the Meyer–Neldel rule. Dark conductivity variations are accompanied by changes in the photoconductivity or the majority-carrier mobility-lifetime product. The minority-carrier mobility-lifetime product is not affected. The observations can be related to Fermi-level induced changes of the excess carrier lifetimes.
