Abstract
► Ti3(Si, Al)C2 and (Ti, Zr)3(Si, Al)C2 compounds were irradiated with 95 MeV Xe up to 2 × 1019 m−2 and 4.5 × 1019 m−2 respectively. ► Substitution of Ti by Zr did not impact the good resistance to irradiation of Ti3(Si, Al)C2. ► A plateau in hardness above 1019 m−2 evidences a saturation in irradiation damage. ► No amorphisation was highlighted.
