Abstract
► The high temperature deformation and fracture behaviour of 316LSS are investigated. ► The deformation and fracture response depend on the strain rate and temperature. ► The fracture of 316L specimens is dominated by intensive localised shearing. ► The flow localisation effect leads to the formation of adiabatic shear bands. ► The fracture surfaces contain dimple-like structure with knobby features.
