Abstract
► Pu-Al alloys formation in a molten LiCl-KCl eutectic. ► Electrochemical reduction of Pu3+ on Al and inert W cathodes from 400 °C to 550 °C. ► Pu reduction more anodic on the Al than on the W due to Pu-Al alloy formation. ► Five intermetallic compounds detected: Pu3Al, PuAl, PuAl2, PuAl3 and PuAl4. ► Dense and homogeneous PuAl3 and PuAl4 alloys deposits confirmed by EDX mapping.
