Abstract
► Lattice damage and secondary phase in Fe implanted ZrO2:Y (YSZ) are reported. ► YSZ remains partially crystalline up to a fluence of 110 dpa. ► Crystallographically oriented bcc-Fe nanoparticles have formed in the YSZ matrix.
