Abstract

In This work, we studied the dispersion of pollutants from chimneys using an improved model, in order to calculate emissions from point sources, and predict the dispersion of these emissions. We have developed and validated a new model to calculate the emissions generated by the chimneys (point sources) and the dispersion of these emissions in the surrounding area of the industrial site. We have chosen the industrial site of the company CIBEL II in the industrial area of Annza to study the dispersion of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions generated by the company and those generated by road traffic around the surrounding area. The results show an interaction between both the weather (see braise) and geographical conditions (hill effect) and the degree of dispersion. Although the road network is relatively low in the study area, emissions from road traffic are an element that greatly affect the results.
