Abstract

Nonlinear optical single crystals of L-alaninium maleate crystals admixtured with urea (LAMU) have been grown by solution method with slow cooling technique. The cell parameters of the crystals were estimated by X-ray diffraction studies. UV-Visible transmittance studies were carried out for the grown sample. From the transmittance studies band gap energy, extinction coefficient, reflectance, refractive index and electrical susceptibility were found out. The impedance properties of the materials were investigated for the LAMU crystal as a function of frequency. Also the grown crystals were characterized by Z-scan technique.
