Abstract
► We investigate tip vortex structure around a NACA0018 foil with and without an endplate using PIV technique at Re=2.5×104. ► The analysis includes angles of attack α=10° and α=20°. ► Vortex formations are changed around the end-span due to the prevention of roll-up flow. ► The endplate decreases Reynolds shear stress in the wake region and the endplate affects the flow formation around the foil up to the mid-span.
