Abstract
⺠A practical approach for calculating the bottom shear stress beneath long-crested (2D) and short-crested (3D) nonlinear random waves is provided. ⺠Results are presented for laminar, smooth turbulent and rough turbulent flow. ⺠Examples are included to illustrate applicability of results for practical purposes using data typical for field conditions.
