Abstract
•Nanostructured ss- and dsDNA/PNIPA composites were synthesized.•Volume phase transition and DNA conformational transformation occur simultaneously.•Anodic guanine current significantly increases in physiological temperatures.•Both transformations are switchable.
Nanostructured DNA/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) PNIPA composites were synthesized. DNA was noncovalently entrapped. A strongly enhanced electrooxidation current of DNA guanine was obtained due to cooperation of two temperature switchable effects: the volume phase transition of composites and conformational transition of DNA structure.
