Abstract
Carbon electrode was first employed on CdS quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs). It can present up to 1.47% of the conversion efficiency, outperforming the identical cell with Pt electrode (0.17%) under AM 1.5 illumination of 100 mW cm−2. Electrochemical impedance spectrum (EIS) is applied to characterize the charge transfer resistance (Rct) at electrolyte/counterelectrode interface of CdS QDSSCs. Our preliminary result revealed that carbon electrodes with large surface area and ideal corrosion-inertness toward polysulfide redox couple exhibits promising application on QDSSCs.
