Abstract
New types of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based composite polymer electrolyte membranes, prepared by adding succinonitrile (SN) as a solid plasticizer, and lithium bis-trifluoromethanesulphonimide (LiTFSI) as a salt, are discussed. The complete miscibility of the polymer with the plastic crystal was confirmed by measuring electrical and also thermal properties of the materials. By optimizing the content of PEO and SN, an appropriate compromise between high ionic conductivity and mechanical stability can be obtained.
