Abstract
Here, we firstly reported a composite electrolyte prepared by adding α-zirconium phosphate into the iodide/triiodide liquid electrolyte including 4-tert-butylpyridine (TBP). The obtained composite electrolyte exhibited very good electrochemical property. The exchange current density (I0) and the diffusion coefficient of triiodide (DI3-) were both enhanced markedly. It was proved that the intercalation behavior of TBP into layered α-ZrP could be responsible for their enhancement. The mechanism for the enhancement of I0 and DI3- were investigated in detail, supported by X-ray diffraction (XRD) electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and limiting current measurements.
