Abstract
Detailed studies of the heavy quark interaction with the strongly coupled QGP created at RHIC provide crucial information in understanding the properties of the medium. The STAR experiment, equipped with a large acceptance Time Projection Chamber, Time of Flight detector, Electromagnetic Calorimeter and the undergoing upgrade with the Heavy-Flavor Tracker, has the capabilities to study heavy flavor hadron production with the dense medium in all different directions. We will present a few highlights of the current STAR heavy flavor measurements and will also briefly review the STAR future heavy flavor physics program.
