Abstract

Azimuthal distributions of projectile fragments, target fragments, and shower particles produced in 22Ne–emulsion collisions at are reported. We observe anisotropic emission of final-state products at Dubna Synchrophasotron momentum and the anisotropic degree for heavy fragments is larger than that for light particles. A multi-source ideal gas model is used to describe the experimental data and the transverse structural information of the emission source is extracted from the azimuthal distribution. It is obvious that the emission source of the heavy fragments has a large deformation (expansion) out of the reaction plane.
