Abstract
I review recent developments in the description of hadronic systems within the conventional meson-exchange picture. In particular, I discuss the new hyperon-nucleon models published recently by the Jülich and Nijmegen groups. I report also results for the πN interaction at intermediate energies, obtained by the Jülich group within a meson-exchange model and in a coupled-channels approach.
