Abstract

I discuss future opportunities in nuclear physics for discovering key ingredients in the new standard model of fundamental interactions. I focus in particular on searches for neutrinoless double beta decay and permanent electric dipole moments and their implications for the nature of the neutrino, the possible violation of lepton number and CP conservation, and the origin of baryonic matter.
