Abstract
The São Paulo potential is a theoretical model for the heavy-ion nuclear interaction. It has been successful in describing the elastic and inelastic scattering, transfer and fusion processes for heavy-ion reactions. In the present paper, we provide a summary of the theoretical framework and present a few applications of the model.
