Abstract
The quenching of single prompt photon large transverse momentum spectra in central Au–Au collisions is computed in perturbative QCD at RHIC energy, , and compared with PHENIX data. Double inclusive γ–π0 production is then addressed. The γ–π0 momentum imbalance spectrum in Au–Au collisions is seen to be sensitive to parton energy loss processes, which would help to understand how the fragmentation dynamics is modified in nuclear collisions at RHIC.
