Abstract
The nuclear modification factor RAA of charm quarks produced from the initial fusion of nucleus nucleus collisions at RHIC and LHC energies is estimated. We consider the effect of energy loss of the charm quarks while passing through the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) and also the gluon shadowing effect for the calculation of RAA at different rapidities.
