Abstract
We report on searches for second-class currents using data from the BaBar experiment at PEP-II, collected at centre-of-mass energies at and near the ϒ(4S) resonance. An angular analysis of the τ−→ωπ−ντ decay mode with ω→π+π−π0 is made using of data and we search for τ−→ηπ−ντ decays with η→π+π−π0 using of data. No evidence for second-class currents is observed so we set an upper limit of 0.69% at 90% confidence level for the fraction of second-class currents in the τ−→ωπ−ντ mode and we set an upper limit of B(τ−→ηπ−ντ)<9.9×10−5 at 95% confidence level on the τ−→ηπ−ντ branching fraction.
