Abstract
Recent results from the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be presented on PbPb and pPb collisions at and 5.02 TeV, respectively. A general discussion on the global features of heavy ion collisions — including charged particle production and its angular distributions — will be followed by various studies using “hard probes” of the created medium, such as jets, quarkonium states and electroweak gauge bosons. Finally, some of the surprising features of the recently acquired data on pPb collisions will be presented, including two-particle correlations.
