Abstract

Radio emission generated by extensive air showers (EAS) is considered with emphasis on two mechanisms of EAS radio emission: negative excess charge radiation and geo-synchrotron radiation. The code EGSnrc is used to simulate the development of individual showers. Calculations of the radial dependence of the emitted radiation are performed for the frequency range corresponding to the LOPES experiment (several tens of MHz).
