Abstract
A submillimeter resolution SPECT detector, based on conventional components, with high sensitivity (at the level of 20 cps/μCi) is under design and implementation for atherosclerotic plaque study and stem cell homing monitoring on mice. A GEANT4 simulation is carried out to optimize the detector configuration. First measurements have been conducted on a transgenic mouse at JHU. Details of the ongoing activities and target applications are presented.
