Abstract
The ATLAS Inner Detector has taken part in the 2004 Combined Test Beam programme and has made efficient use of this unique opportunity to exercise the hardware and software integration before commissioning the full ATLAS detector. Data from runs with e, π, μ and γ beams have been used to determine the detector performance (noise, occupancy, stability etc.), alignment corrections and reconstruction performance of the Inner Detector and its contribution to combined particle reconstruction with the calorimeters and muon spectrometer. The results give a realistic picture of the capabilities of the Inner Detector during the initial LHC runs.
