Abstract
Exceptional ultraviolet properties of scalar fields are discussed. Novel technique for computing them within the momentum subtraction renormalization scheme is presented. Anomalous dimension of scalar mass in ϕ4 theory is computed in this scheme. It is demonstrated that this anomalous dimension is singular in the limit of zero mass. The singularity is related to the naturalness problem.
