Abstract

We present some preliminary results on charmed meson spectroscopy from a RIKEN-BNL-Columbia lattice numerical claculations. We use domain-wall fermions (DWF) for all quark flavors including charm. To make this meaningful we use quenched gauge ensemble with lattice cutoff a−1 of about 3 GeV obtained with the DBW2 rectangular improved action. With the strange quark mass estimate of mstrangea=0.030 from the associated kaon sector calculations, we obtain a charm mass estimate of mcharma=0.360(7) by fitting the Ds meson mass. With these and additional extrapolations for light quark mass to the chiral limit, we discuss charmed D and D* and charm-strange (Ds and DsJ) mesons with spin-parity JP=0± and 1±. We also discuss our preliminary results for the pseudoscalar meson (D and Ds) decay constants.
