Abstract

The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab searches for oscillations using a data sample corresponding to 5.66×1020 protons on target. An excess of events is observed which, when constrained by the observed a probability for consistency with the background-only hypothesis of 0.5% in the energy range of . Fitting for oscillations, the probability of the ratio of the likelihood of the background-only fit to the likelihood of the best oscillation fit is 0.6%. The data are consistent with oscillations in the 0.1 to 1.0 eV2Δm2 range and with the evidence for antineutrino oscillations from the Liquid Scintillator Neutrino Detector at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
