Abstract
The mechanism of very low frequency radio emission (<1MHz) associated with the cosmic ray giant EAS is not clear till date. This paper describes an alternative mechanism of electromagnetic phenomena of Transition Radiation, the radiation which is emitted when a charged particle traverses the interface between two media of differing dielectric properties. A mathematical model has been developed, simulating the time profile of the detector response. The result is compared with detected pulse profile using a loop antenna designed to receive 30 kHz radio wave associated with cosmic ray air showers.
