Abstract
The problem of discovery of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson in ultra-peripheral electromagnetic collisions of heavy-ions at LHC is considered. It is shown that a light Higgs with mass MH=120GeV may be detected in such processes in pp and may be in collisions. A heavy Higgs with mass MH=185GeV can not be detected in ultra-peripheral electromagnetic collisions at the LHC. All calculations have been carried out with a modified version of the CompHEP [E. Boos et al. [CompHEP Collaboration], “CompHEP 4.4: Automatic computations from Lagrangians to events,” Nucl. Instrum. Meth. A 534 (2004) 250 [arXiv:hep-ph/0403113]] program.
