Abstract
The characteristics of the family events are studied by comparing the results from high mountain emulsion chamber experiments with those of Monte Carlo simulations. Simulation are made using the CORSIKA program with QGSJET as the hadronic interaction model. It is shown that the simulation can well describe the observed behaviour of the family events, except for double-core events.
