Abstract
Accelerator data can be of great help to interpret the data of cosmic ray experiments. Experiments at present and future colliders offer opportunities to measure event characteristics at the highest energies. Fixed target data allow for detailed full event analyses at somewhat lower energies. We revisit the need of accelerator data to tune air shower models and the prospects for such data at present and future experiments.
