Abstract
At leading power in the heavy quark expansion soft physics effects in both semileptonic and radiative inclusive decays of the B meson into charmless final states near the endpoint are encoded in a unique non-perturbative shape function. This talk describes the general framework in constructing relations between these two decay channels that are independent of the shape function and thus perturbative.
