Abstract
The propagation of electromagnetic waves in dielectric media characterized by the coefficients εαβ=εαβ(Eμ,Bμ,âνEμ,âνBμ) and μαβ=μαβ(Eμ,Bμ,âνEμ,âνBμ) is examined in the eikonal approximation of electrodynamics. Employing the techniques Hadamard-Papapetrou (HPD) and Spacetime Integration (STI), we derive the dispersion relation, the polarization modes and effective geometry associated to the model.
