Abstract
A circuitry for driving the injector cathode of a 3-MeV van de Graaff accelerator is described. With this circuitry, either a pulsed beam or a dc beam can be obtained. Pulse duration may be varied from 2 to 999 ns in 1-ns increments with variable amplitude from 0 to 200 V and negligible time uncertainty. The dc beam is stabilized and can be set for up to 50 μA.
