Abstract

•This work considers the K X-ray fluorescence parameters of phthalocyanine complexes.•These parameters were obtained using EDXRF methods.•The results are in good agreement with theoretical and experimental values.

The influence of the chemical effects on σKα,βσKα,β production cross-sections and Kβ/Kα intensity ratios of Co, Ni, Cu and Zn elements in the phthalocyanine complexes was investigated. The samples were excited by 59.5 keV γ-rays from an 241Am annular radioactive source. K X-rays emitted by the samples were counted by an Ultra-LEGe detector with a resolution of 150 eV at 5.9 keV. We observed the effects of different ligands on the σKβσKβ production cross-sections and the Kβ/Kα intensity ratios. These effects were interpreted according to the charge transfer process from the central atoms to the ligands.
