Abstract
► Geminate electron-ion recombination in ionized high-mobility liquids is investigated. ► An efficient theoretical method using the Metropolis rejection criterion is applied. ► Electron thermalization distances are obtained from the experimental free-ion yields. ► Results are significantly different from those obtained using the Onsager theory. ► Regularities in the thermalization distance in various liquids are revealed.
