Abstract
A numerical estimation of the spatial structures of impinging clusters from the charge distribution of fragment ions measured in our experimental system has been performed using a simple Monte Carlo particle trajectory simulation. A calculation using the numerical results summarized in a 2D symmetric frame for the C3 fragment ions provides a technique for evaluating the accuracy and condition of classification of cluster structures, i.e., triangle or linear chain, utilized in our measurement system.
